Two days trip to East coast - Day1.

Welcome to Gangneung, the city of history and culture. city blessed with beautiful lake and delightful sea tour.

 

I totally agree...

 

Gangneung is one of famouse tour spots for many foreigners as well.

I took this trip two years ago with my Pastor and his wife at Seoul International Lutheran Church.

 

It was right after lunar new year holidays so we drove from Pohang which is my husband's home town  and Pastor Steve and mary took a bus from Seoul to Gangneung and met us at Gangneung bus station.

 

First we went to Gangneung beach Gyeongpodae.

*Gyeongpodae boasts the most beautiful landscape among Eight Tourism Spots in Gwandong area. You may find 5 moons in the sky, sea, lake, wine glasses and your lover's eye. it's what website says...  haha

 

View from the roof top of Hyundai hotel and unfortunately now they are under construction so you can't visit but they are going to reopen in 2015.

After beach we visited Chamsori museum and above picture is with my pastor steve and mary and the owner of that museum.

and this room you will visit the end of museum tour and this room was really something.

the sound of speakers were just stunning.

It's guide tour and if you know Korean or if you have somebody with you who can translate then You will enjoy more.  It's really good museum tour.

 

 

and then we visited Seongyojang.

Seongyojang is the representative traditional building of Yeongdong province with 99 kans (1 kan = 1.8181m) which is the typical home structure for high ranking officials during the Joseon dynasty. Especially, the line of the roof that resembles Beoseon (Korean traditional socks) and Hanbok (Korean traditional clothes) is as beautiful as the line of white porcelain. It is the very precious source for the study of building in late Joseon dynasty

and Ojukheon
Birthplace of Sinsaimdang and Yi-yi(Yulgok). The name was given due to the black bamboos around the place.

Seongyojang and Ojukheon is quite close to each other.
