Many Infants firststeps monitoring team meet in North Korea suffer from micronutrient malnutrition.
Infants who suffer from micronutrient malnutrition may not look hungry or malnourished, but they are lacking crucial vitamins and minerals needed to properly develop and grow.
First Steps work with polyclinics in North Korea to provide micronutrient Sprinkles to pregnant women and infants.
Sprinkles are micronutrition which prevent anemia, a type of malnutrition, as well as rickets and other diseases. In co-operation with North Korea’s Institute of Child Nutrition, First Steps completed a two-year effectiveness/efficacy study of Sprinkles.
